This training and licence upgrade to drive medium rigid (MR) trucks will open doors into the transport and construction industries. This course is designed for groups of participants not individuals

Successful completion of this course will mean you can:

✓ Drive a 2-axle truck over 8.0 ton GVM. Any towed trailer cannot weigh more than 9 tonnes GVM. See more about our MR truck licence training.

Getting started — what you need to do

Upgrading to an MR licence requires you to:

have held your car licence for a continuous period of 12 months
complete the heavy vehicle theory test with NSW Transport Roads and Maritime Service (RMS).
