A Work Safe NSW Accredited Course, designed for anyone preparing for work as an operator of elevated work platforms (EWPs) over 11 metres.

Licences are compulsory for anyone operating a EWP or any high-risk vehicle.

Please note that course commencement is reliant on applicant numbers.

Flexible training format: We provide flexible format for learning with assessment activities that are ensured to provide every opportunity for participants to demonstrate their skills and abilities. We can tailor the training and assessment program to assist people with learning issues.

We offer flexible courses running either during the week or on weekends. We can organise a specific on site training for employers with minimum numbers. 

Course pre-requisites: Applicants must be 18 years or older.

Your trainer: You’ll be trained by an accredited trainer.

  • Costs includes all texts and assessment material.

    Course fee on our site: $750.00. This price is negotiable depending on the number of participants, plus whether it is on your company’s site or our arranged site.

    Can’t pay the full fee up front? Your course can be taken in hourly blocks and paid for incrementally, hour-by-hour before each training block.

    Licence progressing fees: Workcover charge for processing and issuing the licence is paid at your local post office.

  • Three days for participants with no experience.

    Most trainees take three days to complete the course but there is no minimum or maximum course length and the time. It all depends on the trainee’s skillset.

  • The EWP Course is delivered in Tamworth or onsite if participant numbers are adequate.

  • Appropriate clothing and shoes: hi-visibility shirt/vest; enclosed shoes or boots

    Health and fitness levels to carry out tasks safely.

  • Compliance with site safety plan and WHS legislation; codes of practice, legislation and regulations applicable to workplace operations

    Safe and effective operation of tools, harnesses, plant and equipment

    Setup, operation and shut down of an EWP

    Effective use of emergency safety devices including electronic override, ground controls, emergency descent devices

    Determination of work requirements, job planning and preparation, worksite inspection, identification of equipment defect identification and hazard detection.

  • All the course tasks have to be successfully met.

    Anyone assessed as ‘not yet competent’ can be reassessed on the relevant section after 48 hours from the original assessment date, and before 90 days have elapsed. A full reassessment will be required after 90 days have passed from the original assessment date.

  • Participants who successfully complete the course will receive:

    Nationally Recognised Statement of Attainment in TLILIC2005 — Licence to operate a boom-type elevating work platform (boom length 11 metres or more)

    Application for a SafeWork NSW HRW Licence.

    Licences: Participants have 60 days to submit their application for their HRW Licence at Australia Post. Licensing fees apply. SafeWork NSW HRW Licences are valid for 5 years.

  • You need to complete a form to book in your staff and send us a purchase order.

  • Choose your training session from the option(s) below and pay your deposit to firm your place in the course.

    On payment of your deposit, you will get you course material via a link that we email to you.

    Important: You must register 3 days before your preferred training date to ensure your course placement is approved by our registered training organisation (RTO).

    Read and check the Terms and Conditions, complete your personal details, and click ‘checkout’ to pay your $100 deposit. *

    After payment is made, you’ll then be taken to an ‘order confirmation’ page.
