The forklift Verification of Competency (VOC) course is aimed at participants who currently hold a forklift licence — high-risk work licence, class LF.

This training and assessment is delivered on behalf of Talented Training (RTO number : 45144).

Who is this course for?

Forklift licence holders: This course is for anyone who currently holds a high-risk forklift licence and wants to be verified as competent in the safe operation of a forklift.

Employers: This course will verify and ensure that staff are suitably competent in the safe operation of a forklift. Australian health and safety legislation requires employers to ensure employees are competent in equipment operation and the tasks to be performed.

Course requirements

Participants must hold a current high-risk forklift licence which must be presented to the assessor during the practical assessment.

Course assessment tasks

This forklift VOC course is based on a national standard for forklift operators. There are two assessment tasks:

  • Knowledge assessment (theory) — course participants must complete a written or verbal knowledge assessment involving 20 questions that require short response answers.

  • Practical observation assessment — course participants must demonstrate skill and knowledge in operating a forklift truck including pre start-up procedures. This involves hazard idenitication and prevention, pre and post operational checks, shifting loads of various weights and heights, and shutting down the forklift truck.

    The assessment is directly supervised by our SafeWork NSW Accredited Assessor who will re-train you on any gaps in your knowledge and skills.

  • Statement of Attainment Outcome $300 (GST free). Issued by Talented Training.

  • The Forklift VOC takes approximately 4-6 hours depending on class size and the participant's prior knowledge and experience.

  • 100 Points of ID

    Appropriate footwear — fully enclosed shoes or boots.

    Non-corporate bookings: Payment for the balance of your course fee — either cash or EFTPOS payment.

  • New England Training and Assessment provides flexible format for learning with assessment activities that provide every opportunity for participants to demonstrate their skills and abilities. We can tailor the training and assessment program to assist people with learning issues.

    We offer flexible courses during the week or on weekends. We can organise a specific on site training for employers with minimum numbers.
